Pifferos

At first, the construction of pifferos, belonging to the winds section, was just a hobby. Pifferos have been the first instruments that Mirco constructed as self-taught, and after they have been enhanced and refined thanks to years of experience. They are realized with classical timber of the pastoral instrumental tradition, such as Maplewood, Olivewood, Cherry-tree, Manna-ash and many others fruit trees belonging to the rosaceans (Domestic Service-tree, Wild Apple-tree).

The instrument is realized in two pieces, (all the tonalities are possible, mainly in Sol and La); the two parts can be also realized with different woods. The lutist suggests a shellac finish, with beeswax or with carnauba wax for a best resistance.
